This large New England granite ledge was deposited eons ago in our woods. As the glaciers covering New England melted, they left rocks of varying sizes, strewn around in random places. These rocks had been trapped within as the glaciers as they formed. Many became parts of our many stone walls dotting New England. This giant ledge and other smaller hunks of granite in the woods beside my childhood home became my playground once I was old enough to scramble onto them. I paid it a visit today to say goodbye, she now belongs to someone else.

We felt a great weight lift as the last signature was signed.
