California State Railroad Museum dans Sacramento

Le California State Railroad Museum est un musée ferroviaire américain. Si l'idée d'un musée remonte à 1937 venant de passionnés de trains regroupés dans la section Pacific coast de la Railway & Locomotive historical society, le musée a vu le jour en 1976 puis agrandi en 1981. Il est situé à Sacramento et possède dans sa collection 21 locomotives et wagons.

I've been here a few times and it's still my fave museum in Sacramento. It's a lot of fun because the scenes are very well constructed and you can interact with many of them as well!

If you have small kids invest in the caboose club. $25 for the year, child and adult free every visit and free train rides in the summer! Great air conditioning when it's to hot to be outdoors.

Sleeper car was amazing as they rock the car so its like being on an actual moving train. You can try to operate a high speed train simulator on 2nd floor!

There was so much more than I expected. The train cars were fabulous! There was more with every turn and you could either board them or look in the windows. I had never seen a post office car.

Did you know? Running from Sacramento to Folsom, the Sacramento Valley Rail Road was California's first. The route opened on January 1, 1856 paving the way for the Transcontinental Railroad.

Best teain museum possibly anywhere. Free museum day on the first Saturday in February makes this a bargain.
